Contain
Terms of Use
Last updated: 30.08.2026
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and WIZHUT TECH SINGLE MEMBER P.C., operating under the name Wizhut.tech ("Wizhut.tech", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your use of the Contain application for macOS (the "App") and of the Contain pages on wizhut.tech (the "Site").
By downloading, installing, activating, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
How the App handles information is described separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
1. Who we are
- Company: WIZHUT TECH SINGLE MEMBER P.C. (WIZHUT TECH ΜΟΝΟΠΡΟΣΩΠΗ Ι.Κ.Ε.)
- Trading name: Wizhut.tech
- Registered address: Artis 52, 173 41 Agios Dimitrios, Attica, Greece
- GEMI number: 183239003000 — full statutory details on our company page
- Support email: support@wizhut.tech
2. What the App is
Contain is a macOS utility that gathers windows you already have open into a single window, giving each of them a tab. It moves and resizes windows belonging to other applications through macOS's own Accessibility interface, and returns each window to the position, size and screen it had when you release it or quit the App.
Contain manages windows; it is not the applications inside them. The apps whose windows you contain are developed by third parties who are not affiliated with us and do not endorse the App. Contain does not modify those applications, their documents, or their data.
3. Eligibility and system requirements
You must be at least sixteen (16) years old, and legally able to enter into a binding contract, to purchase a licence or use the App.
The App requires macOS 13 or later and Accessibility permission granted in System Settings; without that permission macOS will not let it move windows, and it cannot work. The optional live window previews additionally require Screen Recording permission, which the App never requests on its own. Meeting the stated requirements is your responsibility; we state them on the product page before purchase.
4. Licence
4.1 What you get
The App is unlocked with a one-time licence key. Subject to these Terms and to payment in full, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App for your own personal or internal business purposes.
We sell a licence to use the App; we do not sell the App itself. All rights not expressly granted here are reserved by us and our licensors.
4.2 Devices and activation
A licence key may be activated on up to 3 Macs. Activating the App occupies an activation slot for that Mac; Settings → License → Deactivate This Mac frees that slot so the licence can be used on another machine — a Mac you sell or retire does not cost you one of your 3.
The App re-validates your licence key at launch, never while you work. If the licensing server cannot be reached, it keeps working for a further 14 days on the strength of the last successful check; after that, a successful validation is required to keep using it.
There is no account to create and no password to remember. Your licence key is what identifies your purchase, so keep it — and treat it as confidential.
4.3 What you may not do
You may not:
- share, publish, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise distribute your licence key;
- circumvent, disable, or interfere with licensing, activation, or update mechanisms;
- copy, modify, translate, or create derivative works of the App, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App, except to the extent such acts are expressly permitted by applicable law (including the limited interoperability rights under Directive 2009/24/EC), and then only after you have asked us for the information you need;
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice;
- use the App to break the law, to infringe anyone's rights, to gain unauthorised access to systems or data, or to obscure, capture, or interfere with another person's windows on a Mac you are not entitled to use that way.
5. Purchase, price, and payment
A licence costs a one-time €6. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Prices are shown at checkout and may change for future purchases; a change never affects a licence you have already bought.
Payments are processed by our payment and licensing provider, Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record for the sale. Your purchase is therefore also subject to that provider's terms, and the payment details you enter at checkout are handled by it — we never receive your card number. Applicable taxes are calculated and charged at checkout.
Your licence key is delivered by email to the address you give at checkout. If it does not arrive, write to support@wizhut.tech and we will resend it.
6. Refunds and right of withdrawal
30-day money-back guarantee. If the App does not earn its €6, email support@wizhut.tech within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you — no questions asked. Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Dodo Payments. Once a refund is issued, your licence key is deactivated and you must stop using the App.
This guarantee is offered voluntarily and is in addition to — not instead of — your statutory rights. If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you normally have a fourteen (14) day right of withdrawal for digital content. Because the App is supplied immediately upon purchase, you are asked at checkout to consent to immediate supply and to acknowledge that this causes your right of withdrawal to lapse. Our 30-day guarantee applies regardless, and is more generous than the statutory period.
7. Updates and changes to the App
The App checks for and installs updates through the Sparkle update framework, and verifies every update against our signing key before installing it. Updates within the same major version are included in your licence at no further cost. A future major version may be offered as a separate paid upgrade; if it is, your existing licence continues to work with the version it covers.
We may add, change, or remove features, and may discontinue the App or any of its features. Where a change materially reduces functionality you paid for, we will act reasonably and, where appropriate, offer a refund.
8. What macOS lets the App do — and what it does not
Contain works within the limits macOS places on one application manipulating another's windows. Those limits produce behaviours that are not defects and that we cannot remove: the green button zooms the container to fill the screen rather than entering true full screen; a few applications refuse to shrink below a size of their own; several windows from one application sit behind the selected one rather than being hidden; and a contained window trails a fast drag by a fraction of a second.
The App lists these in Settings → Limitations and on the product page, and we keep those lists current. They are described so you can judge the App before buying; they are not warranted to be exhaustive, and macOS may introduce new constraints in a future release.
9. Third-party services
The App connects to two third-party or hosted services: our payment and licensing provider, to activate and validate your key, and our update host, to check for and download new versions. Both are described in the Privacy Policy.
We do not control those services and are not responsible for their availability. If the licensing service is unavailable, the offline grace period in section 4.2 is what keeps the App usable.
10. Your responsibilities
The App acts on your Mac at your instruction. You are responsible for:
- deciding which windows to contain, and for any unsaved work in them — Contain never closes an application for you, but you remain responsible for saving your work as you normally would;
- granting and withdrawing the macOS permissions the App needs, and for understanding what Accessibility access allows;
- keeping your licence key confidential;
- your use of the App on a Mac you are entitled to use it on, including any employer policy that applies to installing software or granting Accessibility access.
11. Intellectual property
The App, the Site, and their design, code, text, graphics, and branding are owned by Wizhut.tech or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. "Contain" and "Wizhut.tech" are our trade names. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of anything to you.
Third-party names and marks appearing in the App or on the Site — including the names of applications whose windows the App can contain — belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify the software they name. Their use implies no affiliation or endorsement.
The App includes third-party open-source components, which remain subject to their own licences. Where those licences grant you rights broader than these Terms, those rights prevail for the components concerned.
12. Feedback
If you send us ideas, suggestions, or bug reports, we may use them without restriction and without owing you compensation. Please do not send us anything you consider confidential.
13. The Site
The Site is informational. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current. You may not attempt to disrupt it, access it by automated means that place an unreasonable load on it, or use it to distribute malware. Analytics on the Site are governed by the consent banner and the Privacy Policy.
14. Warranties and disclaimer
We provide the App with reasonable care and skill, and we warrant that it will perform substantially as described on the product page, subject to the platform limits described in section 8.
Beyond that, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the App and the Site are provided "as is" and "as available", without further warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be free of defects or interruptions, that every defect will be corrected, or that it will be compatible with every version of macOS or with every application whose windows you ask it to hold.
If you are a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights — including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content under EU law. Those rights exist alongside these Terms and cannot be limited by them.
15. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:
- we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, or loss of goodwill;
- we are not liable for loss of or damage to data, or for unsaved work in a window that was contained, released, or affected by a crash of the App or of another application;
- we are not liable for the behaviour of third-party applications whose windows the App manages, or for constraints imposed by macOS;
- our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with these Terms, the App, or the Site is limited to the amount you paid us for your licence in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
16. Term, suspension, and termination
These Terms apply for as long as you use the App or the Site. You may end them at any time by deactivating your licence and uninstalling the App.
We may suspend or terminate your licence if you materially breach these Terms — in particular by sharing or publishing a licence key, circumventing activation, or using the App unlawfully. Where the breach can be put right, we will tell you and give you a reasonable opportunity to do so, unless the breach is serious or repeated. If we terminate your licence without cause, we will refund the unused portion of what you paid, calculated reasonably.
On termination, your right to use the App ends and you must uninstall it. Sections 11, 14, 15, 17, and 18 survive.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App, to our business, or to legal requirements. The current version is always published on this page with the date it took effect.
The version in force at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. Changes are not retroactive, and material changes affecting an existing licence will not apply to you without reasonable notice — for example an in-app notice or an email. Continuing to use the App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
18. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Athens, Greece have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. Consumers in the EU may also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform. We are happy to try to resolve anything directly first — write to support@wizhut.tech.
19. General
- Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the terms you accept at checkout, are the whole agreement between us about the App and the Site.
- Severability: if a provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force and the provision is replaced by the closest enforceable equivalent.
- No waiver: not enforcing a right on one occasion is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment: you may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, on notice, and never to your detriment as a consumer.
- Force majeure: neither party is liable for a failure to perform caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
- Language: these Terms are published in English, and the English text is the authoritative version.
